Getting Started
What is Urban Seeds Learning?
Urban Seeds Learning is a hands-on architecture and design learning program based in Whittier, CA. We use a design lens to help kids explore math, science, history, and writing through real projects, so they learn to notice, question, and reimagine the world around them.
Who is it for?
Our programs are designed for curious, hands-on learners, especially homeschool families and kids who thrive with project-based learning. No experience with art, building, or design is needed.
What age groups do you serve?
Little Architects is designed for ages 4-10. Over time, we’re building toward serving TK through high school. For Spring 2027, Learning Center enrollment may be limited to one grade band, TK-5.
What is the focus of your curriculum?
Our curriculum uses architecture and design as a lens for learning. Kids build real projects while exploring math through measuring and scale, science through materials and nature, history through buildings and eras, and writing through describing and presenting their ideas.

Programs
What is Little Architects?
Little Architects is our six-week, hands-on design course. Kids learn the building blocks of architecture and urban planning by sketching, modeling, and building their own ideas.
When and where does Little Architects meet?
Classes meet Tuesdays in the afternoon at Boundless Church in Whittier, CA. Upcoming session dates are listed on our Programs page.
How big are classes?
Classes are capped at 10 students, so every child gets individual attention.
Do parents stay, or is it drop-off?
Our classes are drop-off, which helps kids build independence and confidence. If your little learner needs extra time to feel comfortable, just let us know. We’re happy to work with you on an easier transition, like staying for the first few minutes or the first class.
What should my child bring or wear?Comfortable clothes that can get a little messy, their backpack, a water bottle, and a snack. We provide all building materials.
What is Friday Craft Club?
Friday Craft Club is a free community gathering where families create, connect, and explore together. It meets every Friday at 2 p.m. in Whittier, CA. We ask families to RSVP through our Programs page.
What happens during field trip week? Each semester, we spend a week exploring architecture up close, visiting places that show different eras, styles, and ways communities connect.
