About
In this hands-on, in-person elective, our youngest builders travel through time to discover how people have lived, built, and created communities. Through storytime, play, and simple building projects, students explore homes and buildings from long ago and around the world, from cozy cottages and castles to pyramids and pueblos. Each week, students listen to a story, explore a new place or time period, and build their own creations with blocks, cardboard, and art materials. Along the way, they develop early design skills, fine motor skills, and curiosity about the world around them. The semester ends with a family showcase where young builders share their work. Schedule: Tuesdays, January 26–April 13, 2027 10 class sessions • Optional field trip week on February 16 • No class on March 23 for spring break
